Sensogenoma26 celebrates the 5th anniversary of Sensogenomics, a project that brings together music, science and citizen participation to investigate how our bodies respond to musical stimuli.

Five years after that first experience, Sensogenomics continues to grow thanks to the participation of hundreds of people and the collaboration of researchers, musicians, institutions and patient associations.

A concert to celebrate five years of Sensogenomics

Sensogenoma26 will feature the Real Filharmonía de Galicia, in collaboration with the Banda Municipal de Música de Santiago de Compostela, with Martín Llade as a special guest.

But it will be much more than a concert. During this edition, we will continue to study the biological, physiological, and emotional responses associated with the musical experience, incorporating new samples and data into the research.

Music does not change the sequence of our DNA. Among other aspects, Sensogenomics studies how musical stimuli may be associated with changes in the expression of certain genes and with different responses in our bodies.

This edition will involve people from 12 patient associations, who will contribute to the project through the collection of biological samples and their participation in the experience.

If you have already participated in previous editions, we would love to meet you again. And if you have not yet taken part, Sensogenoma26 is a new opportunity to become part of this experience.

🧬 Participate as a donor

Contribute to the research by donating biological samples before and after the concert: saliva (using a cotton swab), blood (through a small finger-prick) and tears (using ophthalmic strips).

Requirements:

• You must be over 6 years old.
• Register as a donor on this website from Thursday, 10 September, and attend the Hospital Clínico Universitario in Santiago de Compostela on the date and at the time selected in the registration form, where you will attend an information session and sign the informed consent form.
• Donors should plan to arrive at 6:30 p.m. and leave at 9:30 p.m.
