A cross-border cooperation project to study the impact of music on health. Thanks to the Interreg-Poctep program (2024-2026), we will conduct a multidisciplinary longitudinal study to examine the benefits of music on biomedical-cognitive levels and quality of life. To carry out this ambitious project, we have the collaboration of the University of Minho, Casa da Música de Porto, Santa Casa da Misericordia de Porto, the Portuguese Association of Families and Friends of Alzheimer Patients, Músicos ao Vivo de Galicia Association, Compostela Brain Injury Association (SARELA), and the Galician Association for the Support of Alzheimer’s Patients (AGADEA).
EUTERPE_ADN is a cross-border cooperation project between Galicia and Northern Portugal to study the impact of music on health. Thanks to the Interreg-Poctep program (2024–2026), Sensogenomics is leading a multidisciplinary longitudinal study to explore the benefits of music at the biomedical-cognitive level and in terms of quality of life.
This ambitious project, driven by the Health Research Institute (IDSIS), involves the participation of the School of Psychology at the University of Minho to support the biomedical and neuropsychological assessment.
Professional musicians from Casa da Música in Porto and the Músicos ao Vivo Association in Galicia have carried out music workshops for 9 months in seven centers managed by Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto, the Portuguese Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer’s Patients, the Brain Injury Association of Santiago de Compostela, and the Galician Association for the Support of Alzheimer’s Patients (Agadea).
